The making of... Bubbles

No, not a lesson in anatomy! Here's the making of the birth card and box design. As with all new posts on TV15, you must click on an image to see it larger.

1) June 2006 - Some initial ideas, design sketches and color choices:



2a) July 2006 - Finally settled on this pencil sketch design (The tall figure "Bouboule" is Jakob and looks with pride downwards, while the small "Bubbles" character looks up to Jakob with a nice smile):



2b) Digitized and colorized version. (The J on the chest of Bubbles has been removed because it should've been on the chest of Jakob):



3) August 2006: box design with solo Bubbles and photo of Jakob:



The box originally featured a partially transparent insert above the photo of Jakob, but because of technical problems (the ink wouldn't dry due to the humid weather), we only kept the orange duotone-photo.

Due to it's large success, we didn't have enough boxes for everyone. We really regret it, but at least you can view it here now :-)
