- Calendar+

Posted by oVan on Thursday, January 26, 2006 | PermaLink | 0 commentsIt's been a while since I checked for updates on the MohairSofa website, but actually there is a new version: Calendar+ 2.2.10, the Calendar Today-plugin replacement for your pocketpc (wm2003, wm2003se and wm5).
It's simple, small, and it's free! What more could you want? It's not exactly as powerful as PocketBreeze 5 (which is also a great Today-plugin!), but it is very easy to configure and is probably exactly what most people want.

Posted by oVan on Thursday, January 26, 2006 | PermaLink | 0 commentsJust found this free RPN calculator, for Windows, PocketPC and also for Smartphone:

As you can see, it's pretty basic, but it does what it needs to do very well. One of the nice features is that the interface is resizable, automatically scaling the buttons and font along. That's good news for me and all those with 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 LCD users.
I normally keep my HP-42S and HP-48S on my desk all the time, but sometimes it's faster to open up a calculator program on your desktop. This is especially true when you can copy/paste the results of your calculations, instead of retyping them.
I've just added a hotkey to open up the RPNCalc.exe application: I just need to type [Win]+N and it's there in a few milliseconds! Here's my current list of shortcuts (you can find the Brian Apps Hot Key application in an earlier post ):
- Microsoft Virtual CD

Posted by oVan on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 | PermaLink | 1 commentsHere's a little tool from Microsoft to mount ISO-files as a CD-ROM drive. It's only about 30Kb installed, it is free... the downside is only that the interface is not so user-friendly. But then again, anyone wanting to mount ISO-files should not fall into the category of "dummies" I suppose?
I call it Microsoft Virtual CD, but actually is called Windows XP Virtual CD Control Panel (winxpvirtualcdcontrolpanel_21.exe)
Note: it doesn't work with UNC-addresses, but it does work with mapped network drives, so you can store your ISO's on a network share!
